The board of directors of LeTourneau Christian Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Jamie Fischer of Maysville, Kentucky as the new director of the ministry. Jamie displays a great passion for ministering to the needs of people, and the board believes he will provide servant leadership that fosters renewal and growth for LeTourneau guests. Jamie and his wife, Michelle (Roman), a native of the Penn Yan area, have served the past three-and-a-half years as missionaries in East Asia, sharing the gospel through relationships, personal discipleship and teaching English at a foreign language school.

“We are excited about how we might be able to serve the Lord at LeTourneau through the leadership and discipleship of the staff and through serving churches and believers in this area,” Jamie said.

According to Duncan Rioch, chairman of the board, “God has blessed LeTourneau with His choice to lead this vital ministry. Please pray with us for God’s enablement of His servant.”

Prior to his work in East Asia, Jamie held a pastoral position in Jacksboro, Tenn., serving youth and young adults and coordinating other outreach events and ministry activities church-wide. He has also invested time serving as a hospital chaplain and overseeing a volunteer ministry. He holds a bachelor’s degree in counseling and youth ministry from Boyce College of the Bible and a Master of Divinity degree in pastoral counseling from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville.

A welcome reception is planned Sun. Feb. 22 from 2 – 4 p.m. at the Dining Hall for the Fischers and their young family. You, our friends and supporters, are invited to attend and welcome Jamie, Michelle and their five children (Savannah, Annabelle, Josiah, Piper and baby Shiloh). Light refreshments will be served.
