In honor of beloved LeTourneau staff members Avis and Gerri, please enjoy the personal message from them below to our staff alumni, and an invitation to our Friends, Family and Alumni Fun Weekend July 10-12, when we’ll celebrate Gerri’s 90th birthday! We have been so blessed by these dear ladies, whose names grace our annual Summer Staff Fund providing stipends for the teens and college students serving our guests during our busiest season. Dear Former LeTourneau Staff,
Thank you for your continued interest in LeTourneau Christian Center and staff needs. It is a blessing to us when you send gifts to support our summer staff. We pray God will send the young people who He wants here to serve as groups come and go.
We have many fond memories of working with you in many different jobs. The one we think about is baking for the coffee shop when often, I (Avis) would find a note in the early morning stating that “we need pies” or chocolate chip cookies or sweet rolls. Do you know as we look through our cookbooks we continue to come across notes that you left us?
It’s been awhile since some of you have served as a staff member but we trust your time here helped you to grow spiritually and you made new friends, some for a lifetime. We pray God has blessed you over the years and your memories of camp have helped you in your adult life.
Come visit us anytime and re-introduce yourself to us. We are older and can’t remember everyone but appreciate the time you were here and the help you send to the Avis & Gerri Fund. God bless you, and as you send a gift, please pray for God’s plan and direction for the new staff.
